At Crown & Claw Maine Coons, our Priority Pick Privilege option is designed to give families an advantage to secure an opportunity to move ahead of the Waiting List, and have priority position to choose their kitten from a specific litter.
A Priority Pick reserves your selection order for a specific litter produced by a designated Dam and Sire pairing. Rather than waiting for your turn through the standard Waiting List, this option allows you to move ahead in the picking order for that litter.
We offer two Priority Pick options:
Only one First Pick and one Second Pick are available for each litter, and reservations are honored in the order they are received.
A Priority Pick reserves your place in the selection order, not a specific kitten. Because every litter is unique, we cannot guarantee specific traits such as color, gender, or markings. Instead, this option simply ensures that you will have an advantageous opportunity to choose from the available kittens in that litter.
The Priority Pick fee is separate from the purchase price of the kitten and does not apply toward the kitten’s final price. Once you select your kitten, a standard deposit will still be required to reserve your specific kitten.
When kittens reach an appropriate age for evaluation (typically between 4–8 weeks old), we will notify Priority Pick buyers. At that time, you will have 10 days to make your selection from the available kittens according to your reserved pick position.
If a selection is not made within that time frame, the opportunity for that litter may be forfeited and the privilege will roll forward to the next eligible litter.
Sometimes the right kitten simply isn’t in the litter you initially reserved. If you decide to pass on that litter, your Priority Pick will roll forward to future litters.
Your pick position will move into the next available selection spot in the following litters without displacing buyers who already hold reserved picks. For example, if you purchased First Pick but the next litter already has First and Second Pick reserved, your selection position would become Third Pick for that litter. If there were no priority reservation in the following litter, you would maintain your First Pick position.
This rollover option remains available for up to five litters.
If you purchase Second Pick and no First Pick has been reserved for that litter, your position will automatically move up and you will receive First Pick for that litter.
Priority Picks can be reserved for a current Dam & Sire litter or for the next available litter from a specific pairing after the agreement is signed. This allows families who are especially interested in certain lines to reserve a priority advantage for that pairing.
If you choose to skip a current Dam & Sire's litter, and wait specifically for that same pairing's next future litter (as opposed to rolling over the opportunity to the next 5 available litters), your reserved pick position will remain valid until that specific Dam & Sire's next litter is born, up to two years.
